Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area


Location: From US 6 and SR 13 east of Nappanee, south on SR 13 through Syracuse and six miles further to CR 900N, then east to Hoss Hills Road; south on Hoss Hills Road to the second road on the left, which is the road to the area headquarters.

Description: Not Visited. A major wetlands area, lots of ponds and marshes; ducks must be big here, with names like Bufflehead Pond, Scaup Pond, Goldeneye Pond and Ruddy Pond. Several hikes of interest through the area on firelanes and service roads. Rolling, partly wooded landscape. 3,487 acres.

Cautions: The human body is 90% water, this is only 20%. What's to worry about?

Facilities: Some trails. No campsites.
