Chapman Lake Wetlands

Location: From the junction of US 30 and SR 15, north of Warsaw, go south on SR 15 to CR 200N. Take 200N east just over two miles to CR175, then turn left and go to Osborne Road, less then a mile. Turn right on Osborne and follow it about half a mile; the preserve is on both sides of the road. The Little Chapman Lake Nature Preserve is near the Big Chapman Lake Nature Preserve, and I'm not sure which one I' just given you directions to. Big is north of Little, for what it's worth.

Description: Not Visited. 230 acres of wetlands on the edge of Big and Little Chapman Lakes. Sounds like mainly a birwatching spot, although you can slog around a bit if you feel like it.

Nearby Points of Interest: Chain o' Lakes State Park, Tri-County F&W

Cautions: Area populated by Mennonites; watch out for horse-drawn conveyances.

Ownership: Indiana DNR
