Whip-poor-will Woods

Location: You won't believe this. The Nature Conservancy list basically gives up on any attempt to give directions, and even the intrepid McPherson gets vague in places. So remember, I haven't been there myself, but unlike McPherson and the Nature Conservancy, I don't care if you get lost. Take SR 45 from Bloomington through Bean Blossom about 6 miles further to Gatesville, which consists of a general store. Just past this store, turn left onto Sweetwater Trail or any road that looks like it might be called Sweetwater Trail. Hell, just stop and ask at the general store if you're worried; you wanted to check out the general store, anyway, didn't you? Anyway, take Sweetwater Trail about one and a quarter miles to Mt. Moriah Road., then turn right and go 1.8 miles to a sharp turn to the left, where you park and follow an old county road into the woods.
