Location: From I-65, about 37 miles east on US 50; from I-74, about 27 miles south on US 421, then a couple of miles east on US 50.

Description: A pretty State Park sitting pretty much all by its lonesome in the middle of Indiana's southeast farming region. It has a nice lake for fishing or boating. There are only three trails, each of them over two miles in length, through some hill country and the southeastern karst (a landscape marked by sinkholes) region. Apparently there's a cave in the park, but the entrance was dynamited shut after some accidents.  This is Indiana's second largest state park, and encompasses four nature preserves, Falling Timber, Laughery Bluff, Dogwood. and Versailles Flatwood. Laughery Bluff is supposed to be particularly good for spring wildflowers. The last three of the nature preserves are situated south of the entrance to the park. The campsites are very nice and well shaded.

Nearby Points of Interest: It's a pretty fur piece to either Clifty Falls or Whitewater State Parks, but Selmier State Forest isn't too far away.

Cautions: Nothing dangerous I can remember.
