Fawn River Fen

 

 

Location: From I-80/90 take SR 9 south to CR 700N and turn left (east), go to CR 125E and turn left. Park on the side of the road after you cross the Fawn River; the preserve is on the west side.

Description: 122 acres. Oak savannah on the uplands, the Fawn River flowing through, a fen with cattails and Indiana's largest population of kittentails (not related to cattails!?)! What more could you ask?

Nearby Points of Interest: Olin Lake Nature Preserve, Pigeon River Fish and Wildlife Area, Pokagon State Park
