Thousand Acre Woods

Location: From the intersection of US 50 ("the loneliest road in America") and SR 57 in the town of Washington, go north on SR 57 five miles to CR 400N. Turn right and go to where the road turns to the left; after the turn the preserve is on your right.

Description: Not Visited. They're lying; it's only 915 acres. Still, that's a pretty good chunk of woodland, and one you can probably figure on having more or less to yourself. A good variety of trees here and several types of woody habitats.

Nearby Points of Interest: Martin State Forest and the Hoosier National Forest are about thirty miles away; otherwise,........

Cautions: No trails mentioned. You could get lost. On the other hand, isn't that why you're here?
