Nine Penny Run Woods

Location: From Charlestown (east of New Albany) and the intersection of SR 62 and SR 3, take 62 northeast to Monroe Street and turn left. Take the second right, Tunnel Mill Road and go a mile and a half. The preserve is on the left and extends to the northwest. You can also turn on New Market Road, in which case the preserve is on your right and extending to the northeast.

Description: Here's my original description: Woods, a creek, waterfalls, limestone outcrops; an old field turning back to woodland. 119 acres. Sounds nice; it's a pity that there is no real way to stop and visit without parking in a ditch or trespassing on private property. The Indiana DNR is in charge of this. I don't expect neat little trails, and I don't mind climbing the occasional fence, but a pull-off should be provided. Who exactly is this being preserved for?
