Jordan Seeps

Location: From I-70 and US 231, south on 231 through Cloverdale to SR 42. Take 42 west 3.8 miles to Owl Hollow Road (a.k.a. CR 775W). Follow this south just over 2 miles to CR 875N; turn left, then right at the "T" intersection for one tenth of a mile; the road turns left sharply here, and the preserve is on the right and southwards.

Description: 29 acres; an "acid seep", which is apparently rare in Indiana, that is a good spot for birdwatching but quite wet in places. Also some meadow and woods; a pretty and quiet place. Worth a visit when stopping by Cataract Falls. Rare plants that like acid water reside here; the water seeps up from underground. Your chance to be an acid head.

Nearby Points of Interest: Cataract Falls, Owen-Putnam State Forest, McCormick's Creek State Park.

Cautions: Wear your boots, and don't fall down (or, as we say, "drop acid").

Ownership: Indiana DNR
