Biesecker Prairie |

Location: Way way northwest Indiana, at the southeast corner of US 41 and US 231 (both of which run north-south through the state--how'd they do that??). Description: Not Visited. A small (34 acres) prairie remnant with mostly grasslands. If you're coming into Indiana from Chicago and headed for I-65, why not take a short detour? This is very near where "north By Northwest" filmed the famous cornfield scene with Cary Grant. Nearby Points of Interest: Deep River, Gibson Woods, Grand Kankakee Marsh, Hoosier Prairie and Ivanhoe Dune and Swale Nature Preserves are all in Lake County. Cautions: Watch out for those crop-dusters; they just may be out to get you. Ownership: The Nature Conservancy
