Tank Spring Nature Preserve

Location: Essentially this is in Martin State Forest. These are the somewhat inadequate directions the the DNR gives: From U.S. 50 take S.R. 650 which is directly opposite the entrance to Martin State Forest. S.R. 650 ends in less than a mile; turn left (north) at the “T” onto the county road. In about .3 mi. take the sharp right turn (east) onto another county road. After about .3 mi. look for the parking area for the Tank Spring trail on the left (north side of the road).

Description:  Supposed to be a good hike. It is in fact a spring, one that was used among other things for locomotives on a nearby railroad.

Ownership: Indiana DNR
