Location: From US 30, follow SR 23 south almost 8 miles to CR 200S. Turn right, go half a mile and look for a small drive on the right, and park there; the preserve is on your right.
Description: A little difficult to walk through with no trails; the ground cover is thick. But what a ground cover! I hadn't gone 20 yards into the savanna and I'd already seen ten wildflowers I'd never seen before (or if I had, I forgot). This has a railroad track running diagonally through it (from southeast to northwest); I've been in the southwest triangle, which is mostly open meadow with patches of trees. If you are into wildflowers, this is a must-see (try late summer); otherwise, it's still a pleasantly empty space.

Cautions: Savannas usually mean mosquitoes in the summertime; this is no exception. Take repellent. The railroad track, by the way, is not abandoned, and the trains come through at full speed.
