Grass Lake Complex

Location: From the intersection of I-69 and US 20, go west almost three miles to CR 600W. Turn right and go 2 and a half miles to CR 200N. Take this east; where the road curves around the lake, the preserve is to the south.

Description: 118 Acres. Part of a wetland area; marshes and floating peat mats. I've always wanted to see a floating peat mat. The preserve described above is around the northernmost of a chain of kettle lakes, Grass Lake; there is another part of the preserve, McKenny Nature Preserve, due south along CR 100. Partly wetlands, with lots of unusual species.

Cautions: Sounds quite wet and muddy. Don't walk on the floating peat mats.
