Bryan Nature Preserve

Location: Take St. Rd. 38 east from Lafayette, past Mulberry a few miles and then turn north (left) on County Road 450 west. The parking lot for Bryan Nature Preserve is on the right a little way up the road.

Description: This is kind of an odd place. Or rather, it’s in an odd place; there’s nothing but farm all around this little 29 acre woods. The property has a long narrow right of way from the parking lot to the woods, then it opens up. There is a single loop trail through a deep woods with some very nice old trees. There are a few boggy places. This is good for woodland wildflowers and birdwatching. It won’t be crowded.

Nearby Points of Interest: This place is on its own, sorry.

Cautions: This has a respectable mosquito population in summer.

Ownership: Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources
