Art Hammer Nature Preserve

Location:    Take US 6 from Kendallville through Brimfield, then turn right (north) onto 100W, then left (west) onto 900N and again right (north) onto 125W. After crossing the bridge over Waldron Lake, the ACRES sign will be on your right and the parking lot will be on your left. The preserve is across the road. Canoes can be launched from this public access site to visit preserve property on other parts of Waldron Lake.

Description: 373 acres. Preserves areas of lakeshore, Elkhart River banks, and some wetlands. Should be a good birdwatching site, and there is at least one trail; throw in the canoeing and you've got a full day's worth of exploration.
