Spread out in space, it's undeniably
Serene, perhaps not meditating woe,
Though peace accords were put forth unreliably
And discontents were posturing annihilably.
Hard measures brought unprecedented misery,
Almost enough to throttle human history,
As was not seen in ages long ago—
Almost, each man was each man's foe!
Every cause was had for consternation.
The Earth seemed not to have the worth to last.
We may thank an illustrious meditation
That saw a pathway to this world's salvation
And spared the world, though it was undeserving
And passing through calamities unnerving
And fought with many specters from the past.
We're pleased to see the troubled planet last.
