Bryan Snyder Memorial Flag Fund
The Bryan Snyder Memorial Flag fund was initiated by close personal friends of the Snyder family.
While looking for a means to contribute to the family, in lieu of flowers, they contacted Mr. Galema of Harrison High school. After some consideration it was decided that the money to be donated would be best spent on a project to move the flag pole located near the football field. A project that has been planned by the athletic department for some time but was awaiting funds. This project was chosen partially because Bryan's father, Max, and Bryan's uncles, Wayne and Hal, have carried the chains at home football games for the past 30 years and it was considered an appropriate memorial to Bryan.
I got involved with the project because I was a ICT student with Bryan. After the accident everyone in the class was looking for some means to express our condolences to the family. Once we learned of this fund, Mrs. Greenan allowed the ICT class to make an announcement to the school about the Flag Fund, help collect money, and to expand the fund to anyone in the school who wanted to contribute.
The cost needed to move the flag has been estimated from $1000 to $1400.
