Leonard C. Zarse Sr., 70, Chalmers, died Saturday, June 13,at 7:25 p.m. in St Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Lafayette. He had been seriously ill four weeks.
He was born in White County near Reynolds, June 17, 1916, and farmed in the Chalmers area most of his life. He married Audrey Criswell, Nov. 4, 1934, and she survives.
Mr Zarse was a member of Reynolds Christian Church and a former member of the Brookston Optimist and Chalmers Civic Clubs.
Surviving with the widow are a son, Leonard C. "Butch" Zarse Jr. of R.1, Chalmers; three daughters Mrs Marleene Wallace of Schaumburg, Ill, and twins, Mrs Sharon Faker, Gibson City, Ill, and Mrs Karon Kelly, West Lafayette; two half sisters, Mrs Artis Spencer, Monticello and Mrs Gladys Minniear, Chalmers; and a half brother, Delos "Spud" Zarse, R.5, Monticello.
Services were at Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, Monticello, Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
