Betty Marie Dodds Zarse, 49, of Chalmers, died Sunday, March 12, at White County Memorial Hospital. She was a victim of a house fare [sic]..
She was born June 17, 1950, to Edward M. and Evelyn Frances Smith Dodds, in Shelbyville. She was married August 24, 1968, to Leonard C. "Butch" Zarse Jr., in Greenwood. He survives.
She graduated from Center Grove High School in 1968.
She lived in the Chalmers cornmunity since 1968.
She worked at Payless Super Market in Lafayette for 10 years. She was presently employed as the assistant manager of the bakery at the new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Monticello.
She was a member of Brookston Federated Church.
She was Past Worthy Matron, OES, Brookston; past president of Psi Iota Xi sorority, Chi chapter; and a member of the Prairietts Home Demonstration Club.
Surviving with her husband are a son, Cory Zarse, Indianapolis; a daughter, Amy Zarse-Randoiph, Indianapolis; two brothers, Thomas E. Dodds, Indianapolis and Robert S. Dodds, West Lafayette; and a sister, Barb (Faye) Dodds Crowell, Spiceland.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am. Thursday at Brookston Federated Church, with the Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston.
Burial will be at Chalmers Community Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Brookston Federated Church.
