Norman E. Young

Norman E. "Tobe" Young, 74 of Monon died Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

He was born on November 8, 1930, at Monon to Avis O. and Fern Beaver Young. He married Cordellia [sic] Hahn on July 25, 1951. She survives.

He was a 1948 graduate of Monon High School.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953, attaining the rank of corporal.

He was employed with the Monon Rainroad and L&N Railroad for more than 20 years. He had owned and operated Young & Sons Heating and Cooling since l974.

He had resided in Monon since 1985, moving from Lafayette.

He was affiliated with the Monon United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include his mother, Fern Young of Rensselaer; sons Roger Young of Monon, Rick (Anita) Young of Lafayette, Dennis (Julie) Young of Fayetteville, Ga. and Scott (Stacy) Young of Monon; grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Young, Chris (Rebecca) Young, Brosy Reyno1ds, Amy (Eric) Baker, Melinda, Blaine, Drew, Aarika, Hillary, Brandon, Kelly and Brett Young and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, January 28th at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Rev. Don Newman officiating.

Burial with full military rites was at Bedford Cemetery.
