Kenneth Allen Young, 61, R.3, Fowler, died Dec. 31, at home. He had been in failing health for the past several months.

He was born Feb. 10, 1931, to Hanson and Katherine Hart Young, in Brookston. His mother survives in Lafayette. He was married June 17, 1949, to Colleen Lucas, in New Carlisle and she also survives.

He farmed for 43 years, in Benton County. He graduated in 1949, from Round Grove Township School. He also graduated from the Bill Miller Real Estate School and had a brokers' license.

Surviving with his wife and mother is a daughter, Mrs Ed (Belinda) Gutwein, Reading, Pa.; two sons, Bryan, Fowler and Bruce, Garner, N.C.; three brothers; Robert, Oxford; Herbert, Brookston and John, Scottsburg; two granddaughters; five grandsons; and one great grandson. A son and granddaughter are deceased.

The funeral was Saturday in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev Sheldon Grame officiating.
