Robert D. Younger, 75, died Friday, August 25, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Greenwood, Ind.

He was born Oct. 19, 1924, to Warner and Lenore (Hefner) Younger, in Lafayette, Ind. He was married Feb. 8, 1948, to Ilene Quackenbush Younger, in Monon. She survives.

He was a 9142 graduate of Monticello High School, and 1948 graduate of Purdue.

He was employed for 39 years by Peine Engineering Co. as a mechanical engineer, having retired in 1986.

He was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church and Purdue Alumni Association. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Ferguson, Indianapolis and Susan Younger of Butlerville, Ind.; two grandchildren and a great grandchild, a step grandson and a great step grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Gorman.

Rev. Ann Huchins Case conducted a service Monday at Greenwood United Methodist Church. Entombment was in Washington Park North Cemetery, Indianapolis. The Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
