Denver A. Yeck, Sr., 85, of Monon died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at his residence. He had been ill for about a month.
He was born April 10, 1917 in Minden, West Virginia, the son of Esther Margaret Daniels and Andy Yeck. His marriage was to S. Alberta Postan. She died April 1, 1983.
He worked at the former Monon Stone Quarry and several other stone quarries for several years. He also had worked at Northway Products in Rensselaer for 7 years.
He was a World War II veteran, serving with Battery A 138th FAB.
He moved to the Monon area in 1953 from Minden, W.V.
He is survived by 1 son, Denver A. Yeck, Jr. of Wolcott and a daughter, Sheila Yeck, of Monon and one brother, Emerson Yeck of Columbus, Ohio. One son, four brothers, one sister and two half sisters are deceased.
He had 3 grand children and five great grandchildren. Two great grandchildren are deceased.
Services were Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Pastor Gary Roberts officiating.
Burial was in Chapel Cemetery.
