Ronald Allen Wing, 56, of Brookston, died unexpectedly, Wednesday morning January 4, 2006 in Lafayette Home Hospital emergency room after collapsing at work.

He was born August 4, 1949 in LaPorte, Indiana and was a 1967 graduate of LaPorte High School. He later received his B.S. degree from Purdue University in Entomology.

Ron was a US Navy veteran being discharged in 1973.

His marriage was to Raelene L. Johnson on August 26, 1972 in LaPorte. She survives.

Mr. Wing worked his entire 30 plus year career for United Parcel Service and was a member of the Teamster's Local #710.

He enjoyed fishing, yard work & landscaping, bingo and Purdue sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.

Surviving with his wife are their children, Eric (fiancee Jeanette), Ryan & Carrie Wing, his parents, Russell & Paula (Winkleman) Wing and a sister, Barbara (Dr. Matthew) Datzman of Eldorado, Ill. One brother, Terry Wing preceded him in death.

Funeral services were Saturday, January 7, 2006 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home in Brookston with Brother Steve Newton officiating.

Burial was in Brookston I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
