Roberta "Ruth" Wilson, 76, of Reynolds, died Monday, September 1, 2003 at Hampton Sentera Care Complex, Hampton, VA.

She was born April 3, 1927 in Monticello the daughter of Gilbert and Elda Houts Chilcott. She married Lawrence E. Wilson on September 4, 1945 in Monticello. He died August 10, 1993.

She was a homemaker and had worked at Bryan Manufacturing Co. in Monticello for 15 years; Rubbermaid in Reynolds for 5 years and A.O. Smith in Monticello for 8 years.

She had lived in the community all of her life and attended the Buffalo Christian Church.

She received her G.E.D. in 1988 from Indian Trails in Monticello where she received the Einstein Award.

Surviving are a son, Lawrence Carey (Roxanne) Wilson of Monon; seven daughters, Janie (Joe) Rogers of Lebanon, Amelia McWilliams, of Reynolds, Loretta Whitaker of Monticello, Joan (Mike) Kahl of Burnettsville, Julie (Troy) Stonebraker, of North Port, FL, Ruth Annie (Steve) Crosby of Star City and Nancy Wilson of Reynolds.

Other survivors include two brothers, Floyd "Pete" Chilcott of Hampton VA, Charles Halsema Sr., of Monticello and one sister, Doris (James) CuIp of Monon; 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.

One brother and two sisters are deceased.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4 and 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 5 at the Buffalo Christian Church.

Funeral services will be at the Buffalo Christian Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2003 with Elder Gregg Nydegger officiating.

Interment will be in Bedford Cemetery, Monon.
