Harold E. Willner, 97, of Chalmers, formerly of Jacksonville, IL, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005, in St. Clair Hospital in Crawfordsville.
He was born June 15, 1908 in Jacksonville and lived there all of his life until moving to Chalmers twelve years ago.
Mr. Willner was retired from the Illinois School for the Blind where he worked as a custodian. He also worked various jobs throughout his life doing electrical, plumbing and carpentry work.
He loved to play Pinochle and Solitaire.
He was a Happy-Go-Lucky person with an infectious smile. Everyone he knew loved him[.]
Harold was a member of Our Redeemer Church in Jacksonville and attended St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds for the past ten years. Surviving are his daughter, Anna M. (Dick) Humphrey of Wolcott; sons Harold E. (Sue) Willner, Jr. of Quincy, IL and James C. (Brenda) Willner of Wolcott.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 24 nieces and nephews.
Preceoing him in death are the children's mother Dorothy, his parents Carl and Anna Willner; three brothers, Paul, Clarence and Frank Willner and two sisters, Dorothy Alexander and Frieda Oettle.
Funeral services were Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Williamson Funeral Home, Jacksonville, IL[.]
Burial was in Jacksonville East Cemetery.
