Ethelyn N. Williams

Ethelyn N. Williams, 84, of Monon died at 11:40 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette following an illness of six weeks.

She was born April 7, 1920 in Parr, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Leda Rae Lee Hamer.

She graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1938.

She married Chester "Bud" Williams on August 30, 1939 in Lebanon, Indiana. He died December 5, 1994.

An avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan, she had worked as a cook at Monon and North White High Schools for several years and as a clerk at Querry Pharmacy in Monon for several years. She was also a homemaker.

She was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #319 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Meier of Monon and one son, Alvin Williams of Tippecanoe, Indiana; one brother, Robert (Mary Anne) Hamer of Rensselaer and one sister, Donna (Robert) Lomax of Rensselaer.

She had 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter.

Four brothers and two sisters are deceased.

Friends may call at the Kellogg Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2004.

Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2004 with Pastor Mathew Pickut officiating.

Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Monon United Methodist Church.
