Emmett D. Williams, 81, of Monticello died Sunday, August 4, 2002 at White County memorial Hospital.
He was born in Jasper County on January 9, 1921, to John E. and Anna Marie Clayton Williams. He married Ruth A. Maxwell in Rensselaer on December 23, 1939. She survives.
He was a farmer, and also worked for RCA from 1967-82.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
Other survivors include sons, John W. Williams of Dawsonville, GA, William H. Williams of Remington and Donald "Butch" Lee Williams of Oviedo, FL; a daughter Nancy K. Sanders of Monon; a brother Marvin Williams of Monticello; a sister Delores "Peg" Smith of Monon; 12 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.
Three brothers and five sisters are deceased.
Funeral services were August 7th at Fisher-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. William Eisner officiating.
Burial was at Riverview 1.O.O.F. Cemetery.
