Charles R. Williams

Charles R. Williams, 83, Brookston died Sunday. December 5, 1999 at Home Hospital in Lafayette.

He had lived in the area since 1921 and had lived at Regency Place in Lafayette since November 10 and was hospitalized on December 3rd.

He was born November 2, 1916 in Texarkana. Arkansas, the son of Cody and Ella May (Shannaberger) Williams. He graduated from Round Grove High School in 1934. He served in the Army for four years, two years with the Army Ordnance and two years in the Infantry.

A retired farmer, he also worked as a carpenter and blacksmith.

He is survived by two sons, Wayne Williams of West Lafayette and John Williams of Lafayette and two sisters, Marcella Bronson of Homer, MI and Berneice Warner of Tuscon, AZ. A brother Jack preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be Thursday. December 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home with Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
