Emily Wickersham

Emily Wickersham, 94, of Monticello, formerly of Brookston, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Twin Lakes Village Nursing Home in Monticello. She had lived there for the past five years.

She was born January 26, 1910 in Johnstown, PA to Daniel and Martha (Petic) Lentz.

Her marriage was to Jerry Wickersham on September 14, 1929 in Detroit, MI. He died June 14, 1967.

She was a homemaker. She worked with her husband in the operation of Wickersham's Hybrid Seed Corn in Brookston and ran it for seven years following his death.

She loved to garden and enjoyed knitting and interaction with people.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra (Patrick) Donahue of Fishers and Joan Bond of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services were April 21, 2005, at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home in Brookston with Rev. Dr. Lelan D. McReynolds officiating.

Burial was in Brookston I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
