Francis E. White

Francis E. White, 78, died Friday, Dec 24, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

He was born March 5, 1921, to Lowell and Mildred Corns White. in Brookston. He was married Nov. 17. 1945, to Wilma Waymire, in Brookston. She survives.

He graduated from Brookston High School in 1940. He retired in 1961 from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of serving He worked and then retired from CTS in 1981 after 18 years.

He was a Master Sgt. when he retired from the U.S. Air Force. His last assignment was with the 301st Bomb Wing, SAC and received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon and the American Defense Service Medal with one bronze star.

He also was given the Korean Service medal; the national Defense Service medal; the Commendation Ribbon; the Good Conduct medal with five bronze loops and the U.S. Air Force Longevity Service Award with four bronze oak clusters.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Steven White, Brookston and Thomas White, Warrenburg, Mo.; sister, Marjorie Young, Earl Park; brother, Don White, Brookston and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death a son, William Lowell White in 1968; sisters, Martha and Wanetta and brother, Gene White.

A private funeral service was held today, (Tuesday) at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Jan Dimick officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
