Elizabetb Wbeeler
Elizabeth Darline Wheeler, 78, of Wolcott, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She had been in the hospital for a month and ill for four years.
She was born at Vincennes on July 23, 1926 to Everett and Blanche Eddleman Frey.
She married Richard Wheeler on August 7, 1949. He died in 1999.
She was a graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School and Ball State University. She had a Masters degree from Purdue University.
She had lived in Wolcott since 1955.
She was an elementaiy school teacher, 3rd grade, in Wolcott and Tri-County for 34 years.
She owned The New Wolcott Enterprise.
She was a member of the Wolcott United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the Remington Chapter No. 169 OES, Crusaders Circle of the church, Retired Teachers Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Anson Wolcott Historical Society.
Survivors include daughters; Beth (Herb) Folsom of Mancos, CO and Lisa (Dean) Bettis of Bloomington, IL; sons, Fred Wheeler of Plano, TX and Eric (Allison) Wheeler of Lafayette; brothers, Leslie Frey of Jeffersonville, and eight grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Funeral services were Saturday at Wolcott United Methodist Church in Wolcott with Pastor James Childress officiating.
Burial was in Wolcott Cemetery.
