Truman W. Westphal

Truman W. Westphal, 94, of Reynolds, died Friday, July 12, 2002, at his residence.

He was born June 25, 1908, in Reynolds, to Carl and Virginia Shoemaker Westphal. He married Louella Sadie Locks, on June 20, 1933, in Flint, Michigan. She survives.

He lived n Reynolds all of his life, and was a graduate of Reynolds High School

He was the owner of the Standard service station, IGA grocery store and hardware store all in Reynolds. He was self employed and loved working with people. He was also a buyer/seller of feeder pigs.

He was a member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church, where he served for many years as superintendent, trustee and a board member of the church.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Sonja (Carl) Westphal Shivley of Chalmers; son Richard C. (Donna) Westphal of Reynolds; eight grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

A sister, Lucille Westphal Cords and a brother Thornton Westphal are deceased.

Funeral services were this morning at Reynolds United Methodist Church with Rev. Bryan L. Ton, Rev. James R. Copeland and the Rev. Kaye Bass officiating. Miller-Roscka Funeral Home was in charge.

Burial was in Riverside I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
