Helen Kalberer Westfall, 85, formerly of Lafayette, Florida and Lake Freeman, died Monday, Dec. 11, in her home at Perry, Georgia.
She was born June 23, 1904,. to Chris and Katherine Schulmeyer Kalberer, in Lafayette. She was married Sept. 4, 1931 to Edward F. Westfall, who died in 1962.
She moved from Lafayette to Florida, in 1931, where she was employed as an executive secretary most of her life. She sold her Lake Freeman summer cot tage, following her husband's death. She moved to Georgia in 1983.
She served on the city council of Sebring, Fla., for two years and was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Miami, Fla. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Perry.
Survivors include two nephews, Donald Kalberer, Florence, Ala., who was raised in her home and Stanley Kalberer, Washington, Ind. One sister and two brothers are deceased.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev Gene Ansell officiating.
Burial will be in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
