James Hillis Westerhouse, 49, of West Lafayette died Friday, January 9, 2004 in his home.
He was born May 31, 1954, in Lafayette and grew up in the Buffalo area. He graduated front North White High School in 1972. He attended Indiana University, where he majored in voice in the school of music from 1972-1976.
He married Jennifer L. Sparrow on October 9, 1999, in Indianapolis. She survives.
He was a bookkeeper for Gulling Small Engine Repair in Indianapolis.
He was a member of several reenactment groups. He was a member of the Walking Montage Brothers for 20 years, recording more than 200 songs.
Other survivors include his mother Lova Westerhouse of Monticello; a sister Delilah (Jim) Jordan of Francesville; and two brothers, Sam (Jeri) Westerhouse of Monticeilo and Jerry Lee (Karen) Westerhouse of Merrill, Wisconsin.
His father George E. Westerhouse preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 17, 2004 after 1:00 p.m. and until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twckenham [sic] Blvd., Lafayette, with Will McPearson officiating.
