Arthur William Clemens Werner, 75, of Reynolds died Wednesday, November 30, at his residence. He had been seriously ill for the past two weeks.
A retired White County Highway employee, he was born November 16, in Reynolds, the son of William and Elizabeth Pauline (Heimilich) Werner. His marriage was to Lola Kellenburger on October 23, 1937 in Reynolds. She survives along with two sons: David A Werner, Reynolds and William E. Werner of Orlando, FL and two daughters, Mrs. Gary Adele Gadlove, Glendale, AZ and Lorita Farrell, Chalmers.
His step mother, Stella Werner, Lafayette, a half-brother, Thomas Werner, Lafayette, a half-sister, Evelyn Fox, Cornpton, IL, one brother Paul Werner, Medaryville and one sister, Elizabeth Jarrett of Monticello also survive. One daughter and one brother preceeded him in death.
He had fifteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A lifelong resident of Reynolds, he was a Charter member, Past Governor and held several offices in the Monticello Moose Lodge. He also was a member of the Legion of the Moose and Fellowship of the Moose.
Services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Pastor Stephen Koenig officiating. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. on Friday. There will be a Moose Service on Friday evening. Memorials may be made to the Reynolds Fire Department.
