Richard L. "Rick" Weaver, 52, of Buffalo, died Monday, Nov. 20, at Lafayette Home Hospital.
He was born Jan. 27, 1948, to Lewis and Doris Capes Jenkins, in Wabash County. He was married Jan. 21, 1973, to Sadonna S. Taylor in Royal Center and she survives.
He graduated from Pioneer High School in 1967.
He was a Vietnam Veteran who served with the U.S. Navy on the USS Tutuila and USS America.
He was the owner of Rick's Market since August 1983.
He was Past Master of Royal Center Lodge No. 585 and a member of Royal Center Order of Eastern Star No. 375, Royal Center. He was instrumental in helping build the new Royal Center Masonic Lodge.
He was a member of Monticello AMVETS Post No. 91 and Logansport VFW. He was a board member of Pulaski-White Rural Telephone Cooperative.
He was an avid Indiana University and Bobby Knight fan. He loved to fish, play golf and run his beagle dogs.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Jill (Cary) Shannon and Kathryn Weaver, all of Buffalo; parents Lewis and Doris Jenkins of Royal Center; sister, Susie Gray of Pensacola, Florida; grandmother, Florence Capes of Logansport; and grandson, Ethan Stone Shannon.
A son is deceased.
Funeral services were Wednesday, at Harrison-Metzger, Royal Center Chapel with Gregg Nydegger officiating.
Burial, with graveside Masonic services and military services were at Buffalo Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, Buffalo Fire Department or the Buffalo Christian Church Building Fund.
