Harry D. Wayne

Harry D. Wayne, 70, of Monon, died Saturday, January 12, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

He was born in Medaryville on May 16, 1931 to James Otis and Gertrude Campbell Wayne. He married Norma J. Lidke on January 13, 1951, in Monon. She survives.

He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army who served in the Korean War. He had lived in the area most of his life.

He was retired. He had been employed as a welder at Fluid Drive in Wolcott for five years and had been parts manager of Rensselaer Ford Tractor for several years. He was a member of the American Legion in Monticello.

He attended the Presbyterian Church in Rensselaer.

Surviving besides his wife are daughters Sharon (Virgil) VonTobel; of Rensselaer and Nancy J., Kesler of Ft. Wayne; a son Hany El Wayne of Monon; sisters Leona Wilkerson of Rensselaer and Anna Blackburn, Franceska Neff, Rosella (Max) McKinney and Gloria Tudder, all of Lafayette; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He had two brothers and two sisters that preceded him in death.

Funeral services were this morning at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon with Pastor Marcia L. Smith-Wood officiating.

Burial was in Monon Cemetery with full military honors.
