Barbara J. "Sue" Vanderbilt Ward, 71, of Brookston, died Sunday, March 21st, at St Elizabeth Healthcare, Delphi, where she had resided for 1 12/[sic] years.
She had been ill for 10 years.
She was born on Feb. 29, 1928 in Lafayette to Harry and Annette Maxwell Vanderbilt She married Richard "Rich" Ward on Oct. 11, 1947 in Delphi. He survives.
She was a 1946 Brookston High School graduate.
She was a homemaker.
She attended Brookston Federated Church.
She was a Gold Star Mother and was a member of Brookston American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving with her husband are three sons, Jim of Whitewater, Wis., Steve of Bloomington, Ill. And Jack of LaGrange; two daughter, Mrs Mark (Jean Ann) Oneal of Wanatah and Mrs Robert (Rebecca) Knott of Garrett; two brothers, Max Vanderbilt of Brookston and Herbert Vanderbilt of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Two sons and a brother are deceased.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, with the Rev Lelan MeReynolds officiating.
Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
