William E. Walker
 

William E. Walker, 63, Rt. 2, Brookston, died Friday, March 24, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.

He was born Nov. 21, 1931 to Norman and Agnes Hurst Walker in Waveland. He married Michelle D. Sullivan on July 4, 1984 at Tecumseh Bend, Carroll County, and she survives.

He was the vice president of housing and food services at Purdue University before retiring in 1986. Prior to that position, he was the director of Young and Hawkins graduate houses for 20 years.

He served in the U.S. Army as Sergeant First Class during the Korean War. He was an aide to
General Collins at Fort Carson, CO. He was discharged in 1956.

He was a 1949 graduate of Waveland High School. He graduated from Lane Technical Institute in 1952 and John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis. He graduated from Purdue University in 1959 in civil engineering. While attending Purdue he served as staff resident for Cary Hall,

He was a member of the Tippecanoe Historical Society.

Surviving with his wife are one son, W. Bradford of Rt. 2, Brookston; two daughters, Melissa A. Walker of Lexington, KY, and Michelle T. Walker of Winchester, KY; one brother, John C. of Grafton, WI; and one sister, Martha Jo Cabbage of Crawfordsville.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
