Laura Kathryn Hauptli Walker
 

Laura Kathryn Hauptli Walker, 83, Battle Ground, died Monday, May 8, at 9 a.m. at home.

She was born Feb. 14, 1912, in Cissna Park, Ill. She was married Sept. 7, 1940, to Howard W. "Red" Walker, in Rensselaer, and he expired Jan. 27, 1993.

She attended Francesville schools.

Since 1957, she lived in Battle Ground. She began her employ ment in 1962, as a cook at Battle Ground School and in 1975 she retired.

She was a member of the Battle Ground Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, James H. Walker, Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs Ed (Janet) Fields, Elkhart; two brothers, Willis Hauptli, Francesville and Robert Hauptli, R.1, Rensselaer; two sisters, Mildred Waymire, Nahunta, Georgia and Emma Overman, Francesville; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Jessamyn Fields, Elkhart. Two brothers are deceased.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with
Rev. Lewis Ruman officiating.

Burial will be in the Battle Ground Cemetery.
