Mary Jeanette Washburn Victor, 75, a former Brookston resident, died Wednesday, October 6, at Mercy/General Nexcare in Muskegon, Michigan.
She was born Jan. 16, 1924, to Jesse Hill and Ida Pearl Foster Washburn, , near Newtown. She was married Nov. 19, 1954. to Robert Leo Victor, in Stockwell. He died Feb. 6, 1964.
She moved from Brookston to Kalamazoo, Michigan, in 1994.
She graduated from Stockwell High School in 1941 and from Lafayette Business College in 1942.
She worked as a secretary for the Civil Service in Dayton, Ohio, from July 1942 to July 1943. She worked at ALCOA in Lafayette, from July 1943 to May 1955 and from August 1964 to February 1,1986.
She was a member of the Stockbridge Avenue United Methodist Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan and of the ALCOA Retirees Club in Lafayette.
She is survived by a son, Daniel Richard Victor, Kalamazoo, Mich.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Lynette Victor in 1958; and a brother, Frank F. Washburn in 1957.
Funeral service was Saturday at Brookston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jan Dimick officiating. Hartzler Funeral Home was in charge.
Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the Brookston United Methodist Church.
