Margaret VanWinkle

Margaret R. VanWinkle, 67, of Monon, died Thursday, December 19, 2002, at Howard Community Hospital, Kokomo. She had been ill for 4 1/2 months.

She was born in Kokomo on May 17, 1935, to William Goble and Florence Colburn Ewing. She married Raymond J. VanWinkle in Kokomo on June 15, 1957. He died Feb. 18, 1993.

She was a homemaker and had also worked at Coonia Press, Kokomo, for several years. She was a custodian at North White High School, Monon, for 12 years.

She had moved from Kokomo to Monon in 1986.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Reynolds.

Survivors include sons, James (April) VanWinkle of Kokomo and Steven (Sebrina) VanWinkle of Monticello; daughters Janet (Joe) Anderson and Paula (Tommy) Reardon, both of Kokomo; sisters, Pat (Don) Davis and Theresa (Jr.) Rodgers, both of Kokomo; brothers, Mark (Mary Kay) Ewing of Flora and Paul Ewing and Mike (Kathy) Ewing, both of Kokomo and 13 grandchildren.

A son, Michael VanWinkle; a daughter, Susan Miller; three brothers; a sister; and a granddaughter are deceased.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Reynolds, with Monsignor Robert Sell officiating. Kellogg Funeral Home was in charge of the service.

Burial was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Reynolds.
