Mildred
Leroux Van Pelt, 86, Chalmers, died Wednesday, March 27, at 4 a.m. in Otterbein
Care
Center.
She had been a patient there since March 22.
She was
born June 21, 1904, to Leopold and Mithalda Parsons Leroux, in Newfoundland,
Canada.
She was
married Aug. 6, 1963, to John Van Pelt, in Chicago. He died May 25,
1965.
Since 1977, she lived in Chalmers. Before that she lived in Nova Scotia, Canada and Chicago.
She and
her husband owned Van Pelt art gallery in Chicago. Survivors include two
brothers,
Elwln
and Urbon Leroux, both of Nova Scotia; and a sister, Mrs Mabel McCharles
of Nova Scotia.
Her body was cremated, with her ashes taken to Nova Scotia at a later date.
Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston was in charge of the arrangements.
One sister Cora Taylor, preceded in death.
