Van A. VanDover

Van Alan VanDover, 39, Brookston died Friday, February 16, 2001 at his home.

He worked for Kelly Construction of Lafayette as a purchasing agent.

He was born September 13, 1961, in Rolla, MO, the son of Cecil and Maxine Honey VanDover. He graduated from Newburg, MO High School in 1979 and attended a welding school. He had lived in Brookston for the past six years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newburg. He was a collector of black powder rifles and enjoyed his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was associated with the Lafayette Soap Box Derby.

Surviving are two daughters, Julia and Tara Dudney of Odessa, TX; a son Quentin VanDover of Newburg: his fiancee, Tina Gebhard and her children, Casey, Alex and Jordan Gebhard, with whom he resided; and three sisters, Darlene VanDover of Everett, WA., Karen Barrett of Tulsa, OK and Nora Elsbree of Sullivan, MO. A brother Staff Sgt. Steven VanDover preceded him in death.

Services were at 8 p.m. Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Hrookston and another service will be at Teague & Sons Funeral Home, Newburg, MO on Wednesday with Rev. Bermadine Dowdy officiating. Interment will be in Newburg Cemetery.
