Robert E. Vanderbilt, 80, West Lafayette, died Friday, Oct. 28, at 7:22 a.m. at Home Hospital, Lafayette, where he had been a patient since Sept. 25.

He was born April 17, 1914, to Byron and Anna Kassabaum Vanderbilt, in Brookston and he never married.

He graduated in 1931, from Brookston High School.

He retired in 1980, from Egyptian Lacquer Manufacturing Co., Lafayette.

He was a member of the John Purdue Club.

Surviving is a brother-in-law, Chester May, Brookston; four nieces and four nephews. Two sisters and three brothers are deceased.

The funeral was conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev. Loren Shuman officiating.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
