Ilene P. Tyner
Ilene P. Tyner, 87, of Mulberry and former Monon resident died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Home in Mulberry, IN. She had been in ill health for seven years.
She was born October 20, 1917 at Bainbridge, Ind. to Melvin T. and Lennie Wampler Parks.
She was a 1935 graduate of Westville High School in Westville, Ind.
She married Ira A. Tyner on December 28, 1937 in Monticello. He died November 5, 1990.
She was a clerk at the Monon Five and Dime Store for several years and later worked as an office clerk at Dick McElroy Insurance in Monon.
She was a member of the Monon American Legion Auxiliary.
She lived most of her life in Monon and the past 10 years in the Lafayette area.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet D. (Nate) Brunk of Lafayette and a son Richard I.(Lynne) Tyner of Rock Hill, S.C.; a brother Fred Parks of LaPorte and two sisters, Elizabeth Brown of LaPorte and Lucille Hartsock of Alton, IL; five grandchi1dren and seven great-grandchildren.
Five brothers and one sister are deceased.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 9 from 5-8 at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon.
Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday with Rev. Dr. R. Clayton Kendall officiating.
Burial will be at Monon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
