John Wesley Townsley, 81, Whispering Pines, Valparaiso, IN (formerly of Chalmers), died March 15, at Valparaiso.

He was born March 10, 1917, in Chalmers, Ind., the son of Earl and Rhetta Blanche Ellis Townsley.

He had also lived in Fort Wayne, Monticello and had lived in Valparaiso, since 1948. He had never married and is survived by 2 sisters: Mrs Truman (Peggy) Nicholson, Chalmers and Julia Marie Vanderkolk of West Laffayette [sic]. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for family and friends were Saturday, April 25 at Chalmers Community Cemetery with Pastor Bill Henderson officiating. Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of services.

Memorials may be made to the Chalmers Community Church.
