Iva May Titus, 92, St. Rd. 43 North, Battle Ground, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Heritage Healthcare, West Lafayette, where she had been a resident since June 15, 1995. She had been ill 2 years.
She was born May 22, 1903 in Sullivan, IN to James Steel and Maggie Saucerman Steel. She married Olla Jesse Titus on August 24, 1956 in Tippecanoe County, and he died July 9, 1968.
She attended Indiana Academy in Cicero, IN and graduated from Hinsdale Hospital in Chicago, IL. She formerly was a nurse at Wabash Valley Hospital, a florist at Titus Greenhouse, and from 1972 until 2 years ago she wove rag rugs in her home.
She had lived in the Battle Ground area for 63 years, moving there from Terre Haute in 1932.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in West Lafayette, IN.
Survivors include 3 sons, Jesse Edward Titus, Spencer, TN, Glen A. Titus and Evertt Dale Titus, both of Battle Ground, a daughter, Mrs Glen H. (Thelma) May, West Point, IN, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Two brothers are deceased.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Pastor Robert Forss officiating.
Burial will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, IN.
