Hazel E. Timmons

Hazel Elizabeth Timmons, 89, of Rensselaer, died Saturday, November 3, 2001 in Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer.

She was born May 14, 1912, in Laura, Indiana the daughter of James E. and Icy M. (Parker) Davis. She married Ergus "Pete" Timmons in Maysville, Ky., on June 22, 1949. He died April 4, 1978.

A lifetime resident of Jasper County, Hazel had attended the Kniman, Oak Grove and Independence County Schools. She had been a cook for many years and had been employed at the Rensselaer Care Center, Trail Tree and the Jasper County Hospital. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter Anna M. Johnson, Monon and sister Midlred [sic] Walters, Rensselaer; four grandsons, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Her parents, four brothers & 2 sisters and 1 granddaughter preceded her in death.

Services were this morning at Jackson Funeral Home in Rensselaer with Pastor Bill Dunfee officiating. Burial was in Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer.
