Bill Tiede

Bill Tiede, 76, of Monon, died Friday, November 7, 2003, at White County Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for six months.

He was born March 27, 1927 at Francesville to William C. and Ruth Burson Tiede. He married Devonna Jo DeVault on September 19, 1958 in Rensselaer. She died September 13, 1977.

He was a Sears-Roebuck service technician from 1964-68 and owned and operated Tiede Plumbing and Heating for several years.

He lived in Monon most of his life.

He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. LaPorte in the South Pacific.

He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Lodges of Rensselaer.

He was an avid NASCAR Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan.

Survivors include daughters Debbie (Terry) Beasey and Susan (Leroy) Case, and a son, Ron Tiede, all of Monon, sisters Jean (Duane) Schaffer, Shirley Dewese and Madge (Dean) Dewese of Rensselaer and Mary (Joe) Falvo of Calumet City; a brother, Merle (Gen) Tiede of Martinsville and grandchildren Kim Hites, Bill Tiede and Cody Case.

Funeral services were Tuesday at 11:O0 a.m. at Kellogg Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Bretzinger officiating.

Burial with full military rites was at Bedford Cemetery.
